Welcome to the online home of Assess Texas, the intelligent and efficient choice for specialized evaluations. Click on the links above to learn more and to download intake forms.

Assess Texas is owned and operated by Dr. Sharna Wood, a consulting neuropsychologist with locations in Cleburne and online via www.Doxy.me.

Assess Texas does not offer counseling or psychotherapy services, only psychological and neuropsychological testing for consultative purposes. However if you are a good candidate and would benefit from psychotherapy, it will be mentioned in your report and your caseworker, attorney, or treating provider will help you make arrangements to find a therapist.

Mission

Assess Texas offers timely delivery of quality neuropsychological assessments to individuals suspected of cognitive difficulty due to dementia or other cognitive related disorders such as traumatic brain injury (TBI), organic brain disorders, or stroke.

In addition to neuropsychological assessment, most commonly utilized psychological instruments can be administered for a wide range of psychological testing needs. Assess Texas works closely with community agencies and attorneys to accommodate the need for immediate appointments and rapid turnaround of consultation reports. While the primary focus is adults, and geriatrics, occasionally younger people are accepted for evaluation on a case-per-case basis.

About Rural Outreach

We understand that driving long distances to unfamiliar areas can cause undue stress and anxiety for people with cognitive impairments and their caregivers. This heightened emotional state can negatively impact testing outcomes. As such, and whenever practical, rural outreach evaluations can occur in the community settings (home, physician’s office, skilled nursing facility, or other setting). Assessments in examinee-centered locations ensure easy patient access to evaluation services, increased examinee comfort for more accurate evaluation outcomes, and practical assessment for realistic support and resource considerations.
